Jan has an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and an M.A. in Social Work from the University of Chicago.
Jan has a range of planning, consulting, marketing, operational, and management/organizational development experience, including the 1990 launch of Pyrce Healthcare Group. Jan's previous experience includes being a Vice President for a Hospital Corporation of America subsidiary, responsible for planning, marketing, physician recruitment, and physician practice development at 53 hospitals located in 19 states, with over $500 million in annual revenues.
Jan has taught for twenty years at the University of Chicago, Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy and Practice and is a Lecturer in their Professional Development Program focusing on Strategic Management. She is an Honorary Board Member at Thrive Counseling Center in Oak Park and the former Co-Chair of their Endowment Campaign. Jan has a major commitment to Education and is a Board Member at Fenwick High School, a former elected School Board Member of River Forest District 90, and the former Chair of the Citizen's Council at Oak Park and River Forest High School. She has also been involved as a Board Member at a Montessori School and at an Undergraduate College.
Jan Pyrce has been a national speaker on many healthcare topics and has presented at meetings of the American Hospital Association, National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems, Association for Ambulatory Behavioral Healthcare, American Marketing Association, National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, Institute for Behavioral Health, and other professional organizations.
She was a contributor to the 1990 American Marketing Association Health Services Academy publication - Ten Marketers Talk. She has been published articles in trade publications and has been quoted in Modern Healthcare.

Ann Schreiner – LCSW, Clinical Consultant
Ann is a licensed clinical social worker in the State of Illinois. Ann’s 40 year professional career includes experience in for-profit psychiatric healthcare as well as non-profit community mental health and social service settings. Most recently Ann held the position of President and CEO of Pillars, the largest mental health and social service agency in the Western suburbs of Chicago. With an annual budget of over $15,000,000 and a staff of over 250, services were provided in the areas of mental health, addiction, domestic and sexual violence, and Head Start and Early Head Start. She led the development of a partnership with a local Federally Qualified Health Center to provide integrated behavioral healthcare in the primary care setting resulting in the successful merger of the two organizations. Ann has a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MA) from the University of Chicago.
Mimi Skapek – Strategy and Data Informatics Consultant
Mimi is a senior consultant with over thirty years experience in the field of information technology. In her early corporate career she was a systems engineer for Unisys and Apple, Inc., and marketing director for an MIT software startup. As a consultant, Mimi merged her technology expertise with market research and analytics to team up with non- and for-profits primarily in the healthcare sector. In applying data informatics strategies to traditional qualitative and quantitative research tools, Mimi assists her clients in identifying best practices and navigating growth opportunities. Mimi received a BS In Computer Science from Duke University.

Gary Kagan – Managing Partner, Prairie Health Ventures; Operating Partner, Linden Capital Partners
Gary is an experienced and successful health care services entrepreneur. Originally trained as a hospital administrator, he served in several hospital CEO and senior operations positions with national hospital management companies early in his career. In 1981, he was a member of the original management team of Horizon Health Corporation, a national contract management provider of psychiatric and rehabilitation services. Gary oversaw the design and implementation of the marketing and sales functions for Horizon and was instrumental in the company's accelerated growth and successful IP. He left Horizon in 1999 to co-found SemperCare, a national long term acute care hospital company that utilized the hospital-in-hospital model in collaboration with prominent tertiary care medical centers. Following SemperCare's successful sale to Select Medical Corporation in 2005, Gary founded Prairie Health Ventures. He has a BA from the University of Wisconsin and a MA in Hospital Administration from The George Washington University.
